Major Improvement Works to Leisure Centres

Notice from Warwick District Council

At the council meeting of Warwick District Council on 16 November 2016, approval was granted for major improvements to be made Newbold Comyn Leisure Centre and St Nicholas Park Leisure Centre.

It is now confirmed that the building works will commence at Newbold Comyn Leisure Centre on 3rd January 2017 and will require a complete closure of this centre for 22 weeks until June 2017. The centre will then reopen with new extended gym facilities, fitness studios and swimming pool, while work continues to construct the sports hall and the new changing village.  The whole site will be completed by November 2017.

St Nicholas Park Leisure Centre swimming pool will close in December 2016 and remain closed until November to allow for the significant work to the pool tank and the heating and water treatment plant, and the construction of the new gym, studios and changing village.

It is acknowledged that the original programme of works was less disruptive and we would apologise to customers for the inconvenience caused by the new programme. The new programme ensures that the two leisure centres will be fully open and offering fantastic refurbished facilities before Christmas 2017.

We will be working hard to find alternative opportunities for customers to continue to use Warwick District Council leisure facilities and will be making regular updates to our website to keep people up to date:
