Carer Wellbeing Service

Carers across Warwickshire are set to benefit from the launch of a new Carer Wellbeing Service.

Warwickshire County Council and the three local clinical commissioning groups, (South Warwickshire CCG, Warwickshire North CCG and Coventry and Rugby CCG) have joined with health and social care delivery partners in a commitment to support carers.

Warwickshire carers have been closely involved in the development of a new Joint Adult Carers Strategy for 2017-2020, released this week. To see Warwickshire’s Joint Adult carers Strategy 2017-2002, go to www.warwickshire.gov.uk/adultcarersstrategy

As part of the new strategy, a Carers Wellbeing Service will be accessible to carers from 1st June 2017. The servicewill work in partnership with the main health and social care facilities across Warwickshire, in particular GPs’ practices; and  will operate a locality based approach with a lead Carer Wellbeing Worker allocated to defined localities across Warwickshire.

In addition,  we have committed to the shared objective that all carers in Warwickshire are assisted to identify themselves as carers at an early stage. To support this we will raise the profile of carers, the issues they face and the support available to them, via a widespread awareness raising media campaign.
